Copy Text in built-in PDF reader (macOS)

I could not find the possibility to directly copy text or words out of the integrated PDF-reader.
When I select the text, options are shown to color-mark it.
The current alternative is:
A. drag the highlighted text to canvas and then right click → copy text
B. open PDF in external viewer and copy.

It would be awesome to be able to do it in the app, especially if you do not want to create a card, but paste as plain text into the canvas.
