Currently, when clicking on a sticky note or card in Noteey, the item immediately switches into edit mode, which can lead to unintentional text edits when users simply want to select, move, or resize the item.
To improve usability and make the behavior consistent with text boxes, I suggest implementing a two-step click interaction for sticky notes and cards:
First click: Selects the item (highlighted or focused state).
Second click: Enters edit mode for editing text or content.
This approach provides a more intuitive and consistent user experience, reduces accidental edits, and aligns the behavior of all editable items (text boxes, sticky notes, and cards).
It’s a common UX pattern in visual thinking tools like Miro, FigJam, and Milanote, where users often need to distinguish between selecting and editing items.
Expected behavior:
First click → select the sticky note or card.
Second click (or double-click) → switch to edit mode.
This simple improvement would make Noteey feel smoother and more predictable, especially for visual thinkers who frequently switch between organizing and editing content.
